My philosophy

I specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, functional pottery with colorful glazes inspired by the ethereal beauty of nature. Every piece is thoughtfully handcrafted in my home studio, where I prioritize quality results through every step of the long ceramic process.

I typically throw my wares on my pottery wheel. The practice of throwing pottery leaves behind “throwing lines,” divots, and creases unique to each piece and it’s metamorphosis. I consider these markings to be a signature, as they illuminate the relationship between maker and clay – how, through attentive and delicate skill, a ball of earth was transformed into the finished piece.

Handmade functional pottery is extremely special. It’s one of the only art forms encouraging tangible experiences and use of the finished piece. Who wouldn’t want to drink their morning coffee from a work of art? Plus, everything tastes better in handmade pottery!
